About the Business Council

The Business Council strives to meet its goals through an energetic, proactive staff and the work of its committees – Programs, Image Improvement, Membership, Budget and Government Affairs – which meet regularly, to address current and future concerns in the community. The Business Council also monitors city and county government actions for issues that may impact member businesses and interacts with City government in behalf of the business community.

By publishing an informative newsletter, sending frequent e-Newsletter updates, hosting monthly get-togethers and luncheon meetings, conducting periodic Business Focus Forums zeroing in on specific business topics,  issuing periodic “Business Alert” notices and offering an online and printed “Membership Directory & Buyer’s Guide,” the Business Council keeps its members informed of issues important to local business.

The Business Council offers scholarships to graduating seniors from North Kansas City High School, manages the NKC Friday Farmers Market and supports special citywide promotions such as the Christmas tree decorating contest component of “Winter Wonderland in North Kansas City”.

If your business is located in North Kansas City, we invite you to become a member of the North Kansas City Business Council. Check out our Membership page for information, fees, and an online application. You can also reach us at (816) 472-7700 Mon-Fri.
