From . . . North Kansas City Police Department COPPS Unit
As part of an ongoing crime reduction effort in our community, the North Kansas City Police Department is pleased to announce the introduction of Crime Free Business. North Kansas City is currently one of 14 cities across the nation participating in the study which is intended to suggest the best practices to reduce the incidence of robberies and workplace violence for businesses at risk.
A Crime Free Business is one that has met the minimum standards specified by the program to reduce the opportunity and motivation for committing crime. The business community’s participation will aid in efforts to assess and develop crime prevention measures that really work. The belief is that the training and consultation offered will increase safety and profitability, while reducing liability and vulnerability to criminal acts. A “Crime Free” environment can increase your bottom line while increasing customer volume.
The program is provided free of charge by the North Kansas City Police Department. Companies that adopt the Crime Free Business program will be certified by the COPPS Unit as Crime Free Business members, being authorized to display their internationally recognized Crime Free status publicly.
